The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other options, making it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as good. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into narrow corners or along baseboards. The front arms can be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and works well, but this is something you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and also find furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another noteworthy feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it should make, which will affect how fast the device will move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
This device is expensive but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
Our test subjects found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up pet hair. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair that our cats shed, and even found its way into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finished its work.
The app was too easy and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task or recall the robot, or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it gets caught in a blockage like a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. automated vacuum was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its application.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue except for the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
